School Profile

Sponsored by the Charter Institute at Erskine, Belton Preparatory launched its first year in 2018 with grades K5-2nd. The school will add a grade level each year through grade eight.

BPA’s educational focus is entrepreneurial and free market competition, which emphasizes the development of leadership qualities and learning behaviors such as taking positive risks, viewing errors as opportunities, working to recover from a mistake, giving and receiving feedback, asking questions, collaborating with peers, setting goals, planning with a purpose, and tracking personal progress. This focus is emphasized across the curriculum and specifically addressed in our related arts leadership program.

The curriculum at BPA is robust and rigorous. Classical curriculum was selected for BPA students making our school the first classical public school in South Carolina. BPA uses curricula produced and published by nationally recognized Memoria Press Classical Charter School Curriculum and Core Knowledge Classical Curriculum.
